1 Clara tells Sir Edward their assignation (The Austen cliff-hanger) has been observed by Charlotte.

2 Letitia explains to Clara that she’s training her overweight hypochondriac would-be-suitor Arthur Parker in the equine-meta-systemic methodology of the famous Dr. Muscovy. (Getting him to ‘trot’ on the beach below).

3 Clara tells Charlotte that Lady Denham wants her to act as a go-between and encourage a romance between the heiress Felicity Lambe and Sir Edward.

4 Charlotte, Felicity and Clara tell each other their life stories. Felicity tells the others her harrowing story of how she will inherit the slave plantation in Antigua.
